Netsoft Ltd (Mauritius) operates the Netsoft Electronic Billing System, a platform that fiscalises sales documents with the Mauritius Revenue Authority ("MRA"). This policy explains what data we handle and why. We keep it deliberately short and plain.
1. What we collect
- Account data: names, usernames and business contact details of the people who use the platform.
- Business and invoice data: your company's registration details (including TAN and BRN), your customers' names, addresses and tax identifiers, and the contents of invoices, credit notes and debit notes — because this is exactly the data the MRA requires for fiscalisation.
- Connection data: when you link an accounting application such as QuickBooks Online or Zoho Books, we store the secure access tokens needed to read your sales documents and write back the fiscalisation results. We never see or store your accounting application password.
2. How we use it
For one purpose: operating the billing service. That means transmitting your documents to the MRA for fiscalisation, storing the returned IRN and QR code, writing them back to your accounting application, and supporting you when something needs fixing. We do not sell data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with anyone except as described below.
3. QuickBooks and Zoho data
When you connect QuickBooks Online, we access your QuickBooks data through Intuit's official API, limited to accounting data: invoices, credit notes, customers and tax settings. We use it only to fiscalise your documents and to write the IRN and QR code back onto them. The connection uses OAuth — you grant it explicitly and can revoke it at any time from your Intuit account or by asking us to disconnect. The same applies to Zoho Books via Zoho's API.
4. Who we share data with
- The Mauritius Revenue Authority — your invoice data is transmitted to the MRA e-Invoicing System because the law requires it; that is the purpose of the service.
- Your own accounting application (Intuit/Zoho) — the fiscalisation results written back to your records.
- Our hosting provider — the servers on which the platform runs.
Nobody else.
5. Storage and security
Each client company's data is stored in its own isolated database. All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), passwords are stored hashed, access tokens and MRA credentials are accessible only to authorised Netsoft staff, and each client's users can only see their own company's data.
6. Retention
Fiscalised documents are retained for as long as Mauritian tax law requires and for the life of your subscription. When your subscription ends, we provide an export on request and then delete your data, except where the law requires us to keep it.
7. Your rights
You can ask us at any time what data we hold about your business, ask for corrections, ask for an export, or ask for deletion (subject to legal retention duties). Write to us at the address below.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, the current version will always be published at this address and material changes will be notified to you.
